CMSC is now accepting nominations for the following 2-year term positions:

We are also accepting nominations for the following 1-year term position
- Treasurer Treasurer Nomination template
Written nominations must include the signed, written consent of the Nominee and the names of the Nominator and Seconder (links to templates are above). You may refer to the CMSC Bylaws for further details. Please talk to your lane-mates and let’s find some new people to fill these important positions. It is a great way to give back to the Club, learn some new skills, share your ideas, meet some new people and have some FUN!
The official notification, with nomination templates, will be emailed to the membership list.
The President will:
a) be responsible for the general supervision of the affairs and operations of the Club;
b) preside as Chair-Person at the Annual and General Meetings of the Club and at meetings of the
Executive, unless an alternate Executive Member has been appointed to Chair;
c) be the official spokesperson of the Club;
d) perform such other duties as may from time to time be established by the Executive; and
e) be an ex officio Member of the committees of the Club.
The Secretary will:
a) be responsible for the documentation of all amendments to the Club’s Bylaws;
b) be responsible for filing annual returns with the Societies Act or Service Alberta;
c) ensure that all official documents and records of the Club are properly kept;
d) conduct the correspondences of the Club;
e) keep attendance records of all Executive Meetings;
f) send out any notice requirements as described herein;
g) cause to be recorded the minutes of all meetings of Members and Executive;
h) be responsible for making minutes available to the membership; and
i) perform such other duties as may from time to time be established by the Executive.
The Meet Manager will:
a) keep Members informed of competitions of interest to Club Members;
b) collect entry fees from Members and forward such entries as needed to the competition organizers; and
c) organize competitions hosted by the Club.
The Member at Large may:
a) act as Social Convener for Club Members;
b) be responsible for arranging facility booking for the Club; and
c) perform such other duties as may from time to time be established by the Executive
The Treasurer will:
a) keep proper accounting records as required by the Act;
b) collect and record all dues and other funds received by the Club;
c) record all cheques for expenditures and retain canceled cheques and receipts;
d) ensure all monies received by the Club are deposited in the Club’s bank account;
e) manage and disburse funds of the Club;
f) when required, provide the Executive with an account of financial transactions and the financial position of the Club;
g) assist in the Club’s Annual Financial Review;
h) prepare the Society Annual Return to Alberta Registries; and i) perform such other duties as may from time to time be established by the Executive.
