DAVIS, Nancy Elizabeth (nee Caldwell)
1936 – 2015
Nancy Elizabeth Davis was born in Moncton, N.B. December 24, 1936 and passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 9, 2015 in Calgary, A.B. Nancy will be sorely missed by her husband Peter, sons Allan and Robert, along with daughters Janet Hantho (and her husband Russ), Anne (and her husband Vincent), seven grandchildren and one great- granddaughter.
She was a fierce competitor in many sports, including swimming, running, skiing and cycling. Her determination to do her very best was evident at every competition she entered. In 2006, she completed the “Escape from Alcatraz” swim without a wetsuit. Last summer, she swam several events at the FINA World Masters Championships in Montreal including the 3km open water swim. Nancy also ran 10km road races, cycled in many countries including Vietnam and France, and skied in many resorts in Europe and Canada. Nancy also loved to travel and was a great fan of animals. She had a remarkable zest for life and will be sadly missed by all those who knew her.
An Open House Party celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 904 – 38th Ave S.W. from 5 p.m. onwards.
