On the weekend of April 18-19th, Calgary Masters Swim Club sent 27 athletes to the Alberta Masters Provincial Championship here in Calgary, AB! After a weekend of fast swimming and many fun relays, CMSC took home 2nd place in the Large Team category.
Our athletes set 7 club records, and took home 58 Gold, 35 Silver, and 12 Bronze finishes!
We also set an unofficial World Record! Now, I haven’t verified this with FINA, but I suspect we set the world record for fastest 4x50m Freestyle relay swam by a team consisting of 4 Brents! Thats right! We had Brent Bester, Brent Ford, Brent Harvey, and Brent Kriwokon team up for a record smashing relay. Probably the first of its kind.
